The power of believing

“She believed she could, so she did”

Believing in yourself is so important. There is no one else that holds that power other than you yourself. When you feel that you can’t achieve what you want, just believe in yourself. Tell yourself that you can do it. It all comes from two things. The mind and the heart. Telling yourself that you’re strong and capable of achieving anything is the best thing ever.

There really is this power of believing. Like they say, believe to achieve. Set yourself goals. Sometimes, we get brought down by other people’s negativity or our own negative experiences. However, at the same time you’re able to pick yourself up and tell yourself that you can do this by thinking about those that inspire you. Seeing others do well makes me happy and that’s who I want to surround myself around. I want to achieve the best, not anything standard or what everyone else wants. I want to go that extra mile because I’m doing all this for myself.

I want to be able to do things that I thought I would never do. If there is someone or something that is stopping you from achieving your goal, then cut them out. It’s okay to cut someone or something out from your life. Don’t depend on anyone else apart from yourself because it’s your life. You build the bridge you want to cross, not what someone else has built. Think about the good in your life, whether it’s an item, a hobby, an experience or people. Use that as inspiration. My inspiration to achieve is all the bad experiences. Believe it or not, but when I think about the difficult times I have faced, I know that I don’t want to go through all that again and I will do everything in my will power to avoid it and live a better life.

Life isn’t supposed to be perfect. But if you don’t believe in yourself, who will? People want to surround themselves around the best people. People who have clear goals of what they want to achieve in life. It’s your life. You have the power and ability to do what you want, you control how you wish to perceive and tackle things. No matter what happens, you have yourself and that’s the most important thing. I’m still learning that people will come and go in your life. I’m learning that bad things that happen to us, happen for a reason and that it only makes you as a person grow stronger.

I want to be able to grow and look back at how far I’ve come and look at all the things I’ve achieved but it’s only possible when I can finally believe in myself. Everyday I’m accepting myself and my surroundings and if something doesn’t go my way, I will accept that and try to move on.

While I’m here I want to thank all the people in my life for helping me become the person I am today and just tell them how much I appreciate them for being in my life and being there for me. I truly adore my younger sister who is like my best friend. There’s no one else who knows me better and cares as much as my sister and I’m so, so thankful for her. I’m thankful for my family and friends as well because of them, I always push myself to believe in what I can do and that I will achieve my goals.

I also really am thankful for my blogging best friend Harriet. She is the most incredible person ever and I cannot explain how lucky I am to have started blogging and meet this wonderful girl. She is the most kindest person ever and I have the right laughs with her and she is insanely perfect. I do hope to meet her this year and I’m very lucky and grateful to be able to surround myself around someone like Harriet who doesn’t stop believeing in herself as well as others. I also really appreciate my other blogging friend Mia, who is just one of the coolest and loveliest girls ever! I have fallen in love with her blog and she is just one of the sweetest people to talk to and I can’t wait for some future collaborations. Honestly, she’s amazing and I love her!

So we need to learn from our mistakes and appreciate ourselves as well as those who we surround ourselves with. So believe in yourself, you’re more than capable of doing so and your life will flourish and grow. You will grow into a happy, confident and loving person.

  1. Preach this from the roof tops gurl, everything you said here is so so true! I can’t express how important belief in yourself, it coincides with self love – love yourself before you can love others, it goes hand in hand really. And it needs to be spoken about, as you’ve done so so well – loved this post girly❤

  2. I love reading this post – I always try to believe in myself that I can do anything that I want to do, and other people’s negativity does bring me down a little especially when it comes to my knee injury – I never thought a doctor could be so negative to me, I thought they were supposed to support me in my recovery and I think that’s what scares people, but I’m feeling positive every day now and I know I can do it!

I nominated you for the Blogger Recognition Award over on my blog – https://crutchesoflife.wordpress.com/2017/02/19/the-blogger-recognition-award/ 💜

  5. Believing in yourself can help you overcome some of the strongest hurdles in life, and even though it’s hard to try something new, you never really know until you try it and fail. Because really, what if you don’t fail – how are you supposed to find out if you don’t try first.

    Awesome share!

  6. Love this post. So inspiring and definitely true, we do need to believe in ourselves and that anything/everything we want to do is possible. I’ve only began to learn this things as I’ve got older but still important things to learn and accept in life.

  7. This is such an inspiring post! I’m a big believer in ‘positive thoughts get positive actions’; believing in yourself can be such a hard thing to do, but I’m glad that you’re starting to trust your own instincts and successes x

  8. I love this. I always make so many goals for myself, and I’m determined to achieve them all, but sometimes I get so down on myself, I need to remember that I can do whatever it is I put my mind to. You’re right, life isn’t perfect, but surely perfection would get a lil bit boring?

    1. Thank you so much Jodie! Me too! It’s fine to get sad but when you think that you’ll be sad for a while you won’t. Need to learn to stop taking it so hard on myself when thing’s don’t go right! and definitely haha x

  9. This is so so true! It can be hard to be positive sometimes but there really is nothing like having a true belief in yourself. Accepting that you can’t be perfect is such a big part of that too, everyone makes mistakes and allowing yourself to make them does wonders for your mentality.

    Lovely read!
